Jane James, the daughter of Hugh,  was baptised in Scaleby  in   1727.  There are a great many James families  in that area, and we really have no idea who Jane and  her  father  Hugh  were.

           The Rev.John James   became headmaster of St Bees School in 1755 and was later vicar of Arthuret. Although not directly related, we would like to know more of his ancestors and descendants.

Hannah James, born 1781 in Arlecdon, was the daughter of William and Mary.  She married John Chicken, a seaman who served on H.M. Le Tigre.  After his death, she married Andrew Jessop of Whitehaven.
