Esther Dennison, the daughter of Samuel and Agnes, was born in Dalton in Furness in 1682. Esther married Edmund Petty of Wellhouse, Urswick in 1699 and had two sons, William and Edmund. Esther later married Richard Swainson and Edward Satterthwaite.
John Weatherburn married Ann Hodgson in Whittington, Lancs, in1755. Their eldest daughter, Jane, married James Postlethwaite.
Some of our Cumbrian Jessop family were found on the 1851 census for Liverpool. Hannah, the widow of Andrew Jessop died there in 1858. For more information about the Jessop family, see our Cumberland page.
John Todd married Eleanor Madder in 1778 in Dalton-in-Furness. Their son, William, born in 1786 was a tailor. He married Ann Postlethwaite in 1806 in Ulverston. Their second daughter, Elizabeth, married Henry Wilkinson.
James Postlethwaite, the son of James and Ann, was born in Dalton-in-Furness in 1753. He died in 1779, a little more than a year after his marriage to Jane Weatherburn. His daughter, Ann, married William Bibby of Drigg, Cumberland and, after his death, into the Todd family of Dalton.
