William Collingwood married Eleanor Walker in 1710.
Of their seven children, our main interest is Matthew who married Jane Raw in 1760.
Matthew and Jane had six children.
Their son, John (b1767), moved to Alnwick and married Isabella Raffle.
Later generations of this line became clock and watch makers.
Our main line lies with Matthew (b1769) who married Isabella Hall.
Matthew and Isabella had nine children.
The second youngest was Elizabeth (1822).
In 1841, Elizabeth was working as a servant for her distant relations, the Atkinsons of Lorbottle House. By 1847, she had married George Miller (the marriage has not been found).

We have not been successful in tracing the ancestry of William Collingwood although we have searched many parishes. It has been suggested that he may be descended from the Catholic family who were well known in the Whittingham area.
Any help would be gratefully received.
We have a large database of unrelated Collingwood entries which we would be happy to search.
